For over 25 years, Directhitt has provided cost-effective and successful horizontal directional drilling solutions for government and commercial contractors throughout Australia and the Asia Pacific region.
We provide a diverse range of drilling, tunnelling and vacuum excavation services, including horizontal directional drilling, micro-tunnelling, rock drilling, vacuum excavation, potholing and more.
Directhitt has an extensive fleet of Trenchless equipment that we supply to the industry throughout Australia, including directional drill rigs, mud recycling systems, mud pumps, mud motors and vac trucks.
Established in 1995, Directhitt is one of the most experienced drilling firms in Australia. We’re directional drilling specialists that can take on all of your boring needs from the softest muds to the hardest rocks.
As a company, we pride ourselves on the quality of our work and to date, we have an outstanding success rate. Speak with our experts today about your geological engineering project.
Horizontal directional drilling (HDD) is typically a 3 stage process. In stage 1, a pilot hole is drilled between two points using an extremely accurate and specialised location system, whether it be walkover, wireline, or gyro. Stage 2 consists of one or several passes to ream the hole up to the required size. Stage 3 consists of a cleaning pass and the installation of the product line.
We specialise in rock drilling and utilise several different methods depending on the local geology and specific hardness of the rock. These include mud motors, tri-cone bits and reamers, Polycrystalline Diamond Compac (PDC) bits and reamers, and for extremely hard formations, air hammers and cluster hammers.
Open cut is the term to describe the installation of pipes into the ground for water, gas, sewer, electrical or communication services. To install these services, we create a trench to a specific depth and width for the pipes to be placed in. There are two main ways that services can be installed: non-destructive and destructive. Open Cut is classified as destructive, which is why we only provide this service where HDD is neither feasible nor suitable for the project at hand.
Blind hold drilling provides for safe and predictable performance and is usually the preferred option of installation when an exit point is unavailable. Blind hole drilling is an exceptionally effective method when it comes to environmental and remediation wells and is used extensively as the go-to method in the petro and chemical industry to help clean up contamination and environmental issues.
Large diameter drilling is the process of drilling large diameter holes for a variety of industries including energy, marine, mining and construction. It is used in large-scale projects that need accurate and precise placement of the product pipeline. Projects that would require large diameter drilling include oil lines, gas lines, slurry lines, sewer lines, communication lines etc.
We know that vacuum excavation is fast becoming the preferred method of choice for slurry removal and service location as it allows for buried utilities to be visually inspected and verified through small holes before excavation begins. We offer several vac truck units for hire in a range of sizes to meet the non-destructive digging demands (NDD) of our client’s projects.
We offer environmental remediation services including horizontal drilling and well boring. Environmental remediation is a widely used technique throughout Europe and America but is relatively unheard of in Australia. Soil remediation achieved through horizontally drilled wells is an innovative technique suitable for a diverse range of environmentally sensitive projects.
Mud recycling systems were designed by engineers to clean, recycle and mix drilling mud in one tank. This process is frequently used in drilling applications to remove undesired drilled cuttings. With a compact design and small footprint, mud recycling systems can be easily transported and are suitable for a range of project sites.
We maintain a fleet of vac trucks for hire ranging from 3000 litres to 10,000 litres. If you’re looking to unearth underground utilities for maintenance, repairs or installation needs, consider hiring one of our vac trucks today.
To complete our sustainable and cost-effective drilling solutions, we maintain a range of innovative equipment including mud pumps. Mud pumps are a fundamental piece of equipment for successful drilling operations, especially in HDD and Trenchless drilling projects.
